Super Eagles of Nigeria and Al Hilal striker, Odion Ighalo expressed optimism about sending his team to the final of the FIFA Club World Cup when they face European champions Chelsea in Abu Dhabi.
Ighalo has made significant impact with the Asian champions since joining the club from Al Shabab in January. He scored in their 6-1 humiliation of Al Jazira in the quarterfinals of the Club World Cup.
The goal makes him the first Nigerian ever to score in the competition, while the victory took Al Za’eem to the semi-final where they will face Chelsea.
Ighalo is not a stranger to the Blues, having played against Chelsea six times during his time in the Premier League with Watford and Manchester United.
And ahead of the clash, the 32-year-old believes Al Hilal has what it takes to disrupt Chelsea’s quest to lift the title for the first time in the club’s history.
“We’re going to play against Chelsea, a good team which I have played against before, but as you know, the goal of the team and the fans is to win because this team doesn’t understand losing,” Ighalo told FIFA’s website as per Marca.
A victory for Al Hilal will give them their first-ever appearance at the finals of the Club World Cup.
