Leicester City came from behind to beat Brighton and move up to second in the Premier League table.
Adam Lallana punished a hopeless first-half display from Brendan Rodgers’ side, who were cut to pieces whenever the Seagulls came forward.
But Kelechi Iheanacho scored his second in as many games to equalise on the hour, and that sparked an improved City performance that ended with Daniel Amartey heading in a corner late on.
Iheanacho has been called upon in recent weeks because of injuries at the top end for City, but he is making the most of his chances and is ensuring his side continue to pick up points, even with James Maddison and Harvey Barnes out.
It was a clash between the side with the fewest home wins and the side with the most away wins, and it looked like the hosts would coast to victory on the basis of the first half.
City were all at sea, and Brighton made them pay, Lallana getting the goal. He also hit the post with a header as the Seagulls dominated. City’s only chance came through Sidnei Tavares on his first start, the teenager denied by Robert Sanchez.
The second half grew more encouraging as the minutes went by and Iheanacho grabbed his fourth in seven games as he collected Youri Tielemans’ sublime pass, then coolly finished.
Both sides chased a winner, and there were few players less likely to get it than Amartey, who scored just the second goal of his City career late on, when Sanchez flapped at Marc Albrighton’s corner and he nodded into the empty net.
