Watford’s Emmanuel Dennis will not be available for his side’s Premier League home clash against Southampton on Saturday, as he’s expected to serve a one-match suspension.
The Nigerian international received his fifth yellow card of the season against Everton last weekend for a late foul on Richarlison in the 70th minute of their 5-2 victory at Goodison Park.
Prior to the trip to Merseyside, Dennis had been booked in matches against Tottenham Hotspur, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Newcastle United and Leeds United.
Coming off the bench against Everton, the former Club Brugge star made a huge impact, assisting two of the three goals netted by Josh King, before wrapping up the scoring in stoppage time.
Speaking about his absence, Watford Manager, Claudio Ranieri disclosed at Thursday’s Press Conference how much he will miss Dennis, but insisted that the Hornets can bring in someone else to fill his position.
“Yes of course I’ll miss him but I’m sure whoever plays in his position I am sure he can do very well,” Ranieri told reporters.
Meanwhile, his compatriot, William Troost-Ekong, who has earned two yellow cards in nine Premier League games, is available for selection against the Saints, while Oghenkaro Etebo is recovering from a surgery on a quad injury.
