John Mbadi, the newly appointed Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Economic Planning, has vowed to work tirelessly to revive Kenya’s economy.
Expressing gratitude to President William Ruto for his appointment, Mbadi committed to ensuring his efforts yield positive results within a year.
He also praised former Prime Minister Raila Odinga for collaborating with President Ruto to foster national unity and urged Kenyans to support and pray for Odinga in his bid to become the next African Union Commission Chairman.
“It’s time to move beyond the politics of ethnicity and division, we are one nation, Kenya, and should focus on development,” Mbadi stated.
Meanwhile, Simba Arati, Deputy Party Leader of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), welcomed the idea of President Ruto working with ODM ahead of the 2027 General Election, noting that Ruto was a founding member of the party. Gladys Wanga, ODM National Chairperson, also expressed her approval of Ruto’s cooperation with Odinga and welcomed him to Nyanza.
The leaders thanked President Ruto for appointing Mbadi as Cabinet Secretary. Suba South Member of Parliament Caroli Omondi voiced confidence in Mbadi’s ability to deliver in his new role.
