The much anticipated Derby Millanonnia ended in favour of Inter on Sunday as the Nerazzurris cruise to a 3-0 win over rivals Milan to extend their lead at the top of the table.
Lautaro Martinez opened the scoring just five minutes into the game when he nodded in Lukaku’s cross.
Milan started the second half brightly and Handanovic made three brilliant saves to deny Ibrahimovic twice and Tonali to keep it at 1-0.
Martinez then doubled the lead in the second half with a tap-in before a quick break saw Lukaku curl an effort around Donnarumma at the near post after a great run to wrap it up.
That win takes Inter four points clear at the top of the table and they’re now unbeaten in their last six matches in Serie A. Next up for them is Genoa.
As for Milan, they stay second after suffering back-to-back defeats in the league. They’ll be hoping to bounce back in midweek when they face Red Star Belgrade in the second leg of their Europa League tie.
There was so much to expect from this Milan derby, after both side had clashed in the Coppa Italia quarter final a week before.
Inter went on to win 2 -1 in a game which saw a heated argument between Lukaku and Zlatan Ibrahimovic grab headlines.
