The family of movie star, Sean Connery have confirmed the passing away of the Scottish actor best known for playing James Bond.
Sir Sean was the first star to play the role of 007 on the big screen in 1962’s Dr No and went on to appear in seven hit films.
Notable among his hit films were Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Dragonheart and Murder on the Orient Express.
He is a recipient of two Baftas, three Golden Globes and an Oscar for playing the role of best supporting actor in The Untouchables.
Sean featured in seven films before he retired from the 58-year-old franchise in 1983 and was knighted by the Queen in 2000 for his services to film drama.
A poll conducted by the Radio Times the same month which Sean clocked 90 years saw him win votes the best James Bond ever.
