Super Eagles defender, Calvin Bassey is expected to make his debut for Ajax against PSV Eindhoven for the Johan Cruyff Shield on Saturday.
The Nigerian international had been a doubt for the game until after his work permit finally came through.
Thus, Bassey could be in line for his competitive debut for the Eredivisie champions when they face biggest rivals PSV.
Bassey linked up with the former European champions from Scottish Premiership giants Glasgow Rangers on a five-year contract this summer.
The former Leicester City star missed the team’s last pre-season game against Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday because of paperwork.
“Yes he will be included in the selection,” Ajax Cach Alfred Schreuder told a press conference on Saturday.
The Johan Cruyff Shield usually ushers in the new season in the Netherlands.
