Two teachers and six students of Federal Government College (FGC) Yauri, Kebbi State, have been rescued, sources have revealed to theheritagetimes.com
The source claim that the teachers and students were reportedly rescued after security operatives launched a manhunt of the bandits immediately after their attack on the school.
An official press statement is yet to be issued by either the state government or the Police authorities’ a day after the incident which reportedly left about 30 students and the Vice Principal missing.
The Heritage Times had reported the latest kidnap operation in northern Nigeria by armed bandits.
According to sources, the bandits broke into the school premises on Thursday afternoon in police mufti.
Although this is the first time students are kidnapped from their schools in Kebbi state, abduction isn’t a new vice in the northern region of Nigeria.
