Another club, Fatih Karagumruk, a Turkish Super League side have terminated Nigeria’s Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa’s contract with one year to go.
In 2021, a Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr also released the Nigerian international before the end of his contract, and that forced him to rejoin former Nigerian club Kano Pillars before he eventually headed to Turkey after few months.
Now, the Turkish club on Friday announced that both parties have parted ways and wished their former forward well.
“We have parted ways by mutual agreement with professional football player Ahmed Musa, who was included in our 2021/2022 season,” the club announced on its Twitter handle.
No reason was giving for the decision which brought to unexpected end, Musa’s two-year contract expected to expire in 2023.
Musa has struggled to impress at the modest club.
This season, he made three appearances and has yet to score a goal.
Since joining the Super League side last year, Musa made 34 appearances and scored four times.
Musa scored 11 goals and provided 14 assists in 57 matches, helping Al Nassr, he joined from Leicester City in summer 2018, to the Saudi Pro League and Super Cup titles.
Heritage Times HT reports that the former Nigeria Domestic League highest goalscorer with Kano Pillars also achieved success in Russia with CSKA Moscow where he won three league titles and added three domestic cup titles, before switching to Leicester City for a club-record fee in July 2016.
