A military aircraft belonging to the Nigerian Airforce (NAF) has reportedly crashed in Kaduna State with many officers on board including two pilots feared dead.
Informing of the incident which reportedly happened on Tuesday night, a source said: “An Air Force plane has crashed, two pilots feared dead. The plane was flying from Kaduna to Abuja”.
As at the time of writing this report, it was not yet known if bandits terrorizing Nigeria’s North West region were responsible for the attack or if the crash was caused by a mechanical failure.
It would be recalled that last year, a military aircraft conveying the former Chief of Army Staff, Ibrahim Attahiru, and 10 other officers crashed, killing all onboard.
Between August 29, 2015, and 2021, Nigeria has suffered 11 military plane crashes with no fewer than 33 military officers perishing.
