Armed bandits terrorizing parts of Nigeria on Monday bombed a passenger train carrying over 1,000 passengers along the Kaduna-Abuja track.
The incident comes two days after armed gangs invaded the Kaduna State International Airport, killing aviation workers and leaving many others wounded.
Confirming the incident to Peoples Gazette, Fidet Okhiria, MD of Nigeria Railway Corporation, confirmed the development to Peoples Gazette, said efforts are underway to obtain further information.
While the number of casualties could not be immediately ascertained, the railway has become one of the busiest transport sector in the country since it was opened in 2016 as a safer alternative to the roads.
