Karim Benzema became Real Madrid’s all-time second top scorer as the Champions League winners beat Eintracht Frankfurt to win the UEFA Super Cup.
Benzema got the second in a 2-0 win to move ahead of Raul in the club’s all-time scoring stakes. He has 324 goals and only Cristiano Ronaldo with 450 has scored more for the club.
Madrid played as if they had never been away with Thibaut Courtois making the saves and Benzema and Vinicius combining to produce the goals, just as it was last season. It was the Brazilian’s pass that Benzema converted on 65 minutes to double Madrid’s advantage.
