Few days after the exit of Mauricio Pochettino, Chelsea have officially announced the appointment of Enzo Maresca as their new manager.
The club made the announcement via their official X handle on Monday.
The club simply wrote, “Welcome to Chelsea, Enzo Maresca!”
Heritage Times HT reports that Chelsea had been in the hunt to engage a new coach with Maresca being the favourite.
However, the club’s announcement has sparked excitement and optimism among supporters, who are hopeful that Maresca’s leadership will usher in a new era of success for the Blues.
The former Manchester City assistant coach and Leicester boss brings a wealth of experience to Stamford Bridge.
Last week, other top European clubs – Barcelona and Bayern Munich settled for Vincent Kompany and Hansi Flick as their managers respectively.
Also, Turkish giants Fenerbahce had unveiled experienced Portuguese man Jose Mourinho as new head coach.
