Nigeria have qualified for the semi-final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, after a 1-0 win over Angola.
Ademola Lookman finished off a fine Super Eagles move to score the only goal of the game.
It is his third strike at the tournament, having netted a brace against Cameroon in the Round of 16.

Lookman’s goal against Angola was assisted by Moses Simon following a counter-attack move that split the Angolan defence in the 41st minute.
In the second half, Victor Osimhen’s firm header from Lookman’s free-kick was palmed into the net by Angola goalkeeper Dominique – but the striker, who’d taken his mask off and raced away to celebrate, was adjudged to have been fractionally offside following a check.
Heritage Times HT reports that Both Osimhen and Lookman play their professional trade at Serie A.
While Osimhen, African Footballer of the Year plays for Napoli, Lookman is an Atalanta player.
Nigeria that have now conceded only one goal since the tournament begun on January 13, will now face the winner of the quarter-final match between Cape Verde and South Africa on February 7, 2024 at the Stade de la Paix, Bouaké.
