Celebration has continuously reverberated among Team Nigeria after its women 4x100m team a while ago on Sunday, beat the odds to win gold at the just concluded athletics event of the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
The towering squad beat the likes of Jamaica, England and other countries in the final.
The situation wasn’t the same for the men team who settled for bronze in the same event category.
They left gold and silver places for England and Trinidad & Tobago.
Before the end of Sunday, distinct Ese Brume will complete in the final of the long jump event.
Still on Athletics, there is still more.
Both the men and women 4 x 400m relay final will happen later on Sunday.
Same applies to boxing as Nigeria’s Elizabeth Oshoba confront Michaela Walsh of Northern Ireland in the final over 54kg-57kg gold medal bout.
Serial record holder, Tobi Amusan, had earlier won gold in 100m hurdles.
The same wasn’t the outcome for men’s singles classes 8-10 bronze medal game where Nigeria’s Tajudeen Agunbiade lost to England’s Ross Wilson in table tennis.
