With just a week into the New Year, Nigeria’s rail transportation came under attack once again on Saturday, as scores of passengers waiting to board a train from Igueben in Igueben Local Government Area of Edo State to Warri in Delta State, were kidnapped by unknown assailants.
As at the time of writing this report, the exact number of passengers abducted was yet to be ascertained.
Eyewitnesses said the numbers may be high, even as many of the travellers were also injured in the ensuing incident.
The incident was further confirmed by the Edo Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Chidi Nwabuzor, a Superintendent of Police (SP), on Saturday night.
