The Senate Committee on Tuesday screened the newly appointed Service Chiefs.
The designated service chiefs were appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari on January 21, following the resignation of their predecessors.
The new service Chiefs are: Chief of Defence Staff, Maj. Gen. Leo Irabor, from Delta state; Chief of Army Staff, Maj. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru from Kaduna.
Others are: Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Awwal Gambo, from Kano; and the Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Isiaka Amao, from Osun State.
They are replacing the former Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Olonisakin; Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok Ibas; and Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar.
It would be recalled that the Chief of Army Staff had issued troops in the Operation Lafiya Dole 48-hour ultimatum to recapture Marte and other communities recently attacked and taken over by Boko Haram insurgents.
