Former Super Eagles stars have taken to social media to offer messages of support to ex-international Emmanuel Emenike, who is currently battling a serious illness.
Emenike revealed this from his hospital bed in a short video on his Instagram account.
“God is good, the pain is too much for me and my heart cannot carry it anymore,” he wrote on his Instagram handle.
Reacting to the social media post, former Super Eagles stars Nwankwo Kanu, Austin Okocha and Sam Sodje took to their Instagram accounts to send get well messages to Emenike.
“Get well my brother. God is with you,” Kanu wrote.
Okocha wrote:”Get well soon Nwanne.”
And Sodje wrote: “Hey bro get well soon.”
Also, Emenike’s former Eagles teammate Ogenyi Onazi sent a message of support.
“Get well soon Kral.”
Emenike played a key role when the Eagles won the 2013 AFCON in South Africa.
The 34-year-old Scored four times as Nigeria became African champions for the third time in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.
Also, he featured for the Eagles at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
The former Fenerbache and West Ham striker made his Eagles debut in 2011 and after scoring nine goals in 37 games, he retired from international football in 2015.
