In spite of criticism from the opposition, President William Ruto has reaffirmed his commitment to delivering his development agenda in Kenya.
While enumerating his achievements since assuming office in September last year, Ruto said his plan is to transform the country and will not be distracted from the course by anyone.
President Ruto noted this on Sunday during a church service at the Revival Sanctuary of Glory in Riruta Satellite, Dagoretti South.
‘‘We are going to change this country. Never worry, those who are talking will continue to talk but after some time they will keep quiet and clap for us,” he said.
He revealed that his administration is going to amend the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) Act in the next one month so that they can provide resources for every ward to have at least one or three ICT hubs.
The move, he noted, is part of a wider plan to create jobs for the thousands of jobless youths.
“We are going to have 300 to 400 youth in those hubs where we shall put computers and internet. It is in our manifesto and we are making it a reality,” he noted.
In addition, the President announced that 20 new modern markets would be built in Nairobi.
While inspecting the construction, he said, it will be redone after an initial design for the structures failed to meet required standards.
“They brought me some drawings but it was imperfect, we have reviewed and I have asked them to retender it because we do not want to put up second-rate markets we want to make it stylish a bit,” he said.
“We had agreed with with mama mboga that they will work in respected areas, where there is water and electricity. That is what we are going to do,” he added.
