Ahead of Wednesday Azimio planned protest, President William Ruto has issued a stern warning insisting that no Kenyan must die over protest.
Speaking on Tuesday, the President affirmed that he will not allow any other Kenyan life to be lost due to protests.
For avoidance, President Ruto stressed that no Kenyan should be caught in a cross fire over an individual’s political satisfaction.
The Head of State noted that the opposition should accept the August 2022 election result and move on.
“If you want another election, wait for the IEBC timetable on when the next general elections will be held. It’s time for working,” he added.
On the other hand, Opposition Chief Raila Odinga vowed to lead his supporters to the streets for anti-government protests on Wednesday.
The protests are expected to take place in major parts of the country as Raila has already dispatched key members of the Azimio coalition to lead the demonstrations at the grassroots level.
Initially, the protests were only vibrant in Nairobi and Kisumu, last week Friday the group gained momentum as demos were staged in various parts of the country including Kisumu, Mombasa, Kisii, Kakamega, Kirinyaga, Machakos and Nyahururu.
However, the protests have always turned into a battlefield where police clash with protesters. Tear gas, arrests, and water canon have rocked all protests and tomorrow might not be an exception.
Six people were allegedly shot dead by police in Kisii, Migori, and Kisumu, and more than 100 people were arrested and several others injured during the protests last Friday.
