A 19-year-old Instagram comedian from Kenya, Elsa Mojambo has won the E! people’s choice award under the ‘African Social Star 2020’ category, with Nigerian vlogger, Dimma Umeh and South African model, Zozi Tunzi as runner-ups.
Elsa rose to stardom in March during the Covid-19 Pandemic lockdown, entertaining everyone with funny skits.
Some of her videos received recognition from International celebrities, including American Rapper Snoop Dogg and Popular comedian Steve Harvey.
Elsa was nominated alongside top contenders and social media sensation like Dimma Umeh from Nigeria, Lydia Forson, Sho Madjozi, Thuso Mbedu, Wian, Karl Kugelmann, and Zozi Tunzi of South Africa.
The fast-rising star has since taken to her Instagram to thank her fans for voting for her.
“This year has been a whirlwind of discomfort and confusion for everybody, but for me, it’s also brought with it a great lesson, that sometimes even the greatest obstacles in our path can be opportunities in disguise. A big thank you to the people at @eentertainment for recognizing game.” She said in a post on Twitter.
