Lagos State Government has declared 24 hour curfew throughout the entire state.
The announcement came in the heels of an earlier report that schools in the state have been shut-down indefinitely due to the recurrent attacks on lives and state government properties.
The governor of the state, Babajide Sanwa-Olu made this known today via his twitter account.
He said, “Dear Lagosians, I have watched with shock how what began as a peaceful #EndSARS protest has degenerated into a monster that is threatening the well-being of our society. Lives and limbs have been lost as criminals and miscreants are now hiding under the umbrella of this protest to unleash mayhem on our state.
“I thereby impose a 24 hour curfew on all parts of the state as from 4pm, today nobody except essential service providers and first responders must be found on the street,” he said.
It would be recalled that the governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, also imposed a 24 hour curfew yesterday, in the state capital, to ward off further destruction on properties after some suspected hoodlums raided the streets of Benin, including; causing a jail break to set prison inmates free.
