Hakim Ziyech could be available for Chelsea’s Premier League clash against Manchester City on Sunday, according to the Blues boss Frank Lampard.
The Moroccan suffered a hamstring injury that kept him on the sidelines for more than three weeks in the game against Leeds United on December 2, 2020.
Ziyech, who joined Chelsea last summer, from Ajax for a fee of €40 million has missed the Blues’ last six matches in all competitions.
However, Lampard believes the winger could be available for selection as Chelsea prepare to take on Pep Guardiola’s side on Sunday.
“He’s fit to train and has trained the last two or three days so I’ll have to make the decision on whether he’s ready to start.” Lampard said during Friday’s press conference per Chelsea website.
Ziyech has been instrumental to the Blues’ set up since he arrived the club. And this has been evident in Chelsea’s recent performance.
Lampard’s men have won just one game in their last six matches with the Moroccan watching from the stands.

After seeing his side settle for a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa, Lampard expressed his eagerness to get the former Twente and Heerenveen man back as soon as possible.
“I think with Hakim, the way he was playing, he was being very effective for us in terms of assists, goal creation, chance creation and some goals,” he told media.
