Former governor of Lagos State, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has denied having an investment in Lekki Concession Company, the firm which manages the toll gate.
Tinubu made the disclosure following last night’s shooting of peaceful EndSARS protesters at the Lekki Toll gate by alleged military personnel which left no fewer than 11 persons injured.
While condemning the action of the Nigerian Army, Tinubu stated that he could never be a play privy to murder.
He said, “I will never, never be part of any carnage. I will never be part of that.”
“I have no dime, no kobo investment in the tollgate,” he said
However, the former senator who have been dragged by the youths over his statement; justifying the deployment of military officers to the protesters venue, recounted that he was earlier accused of sponsoring the EndSARS movement.
He said, “We are about 13 to 14 days into the protests now. Before now, I was being accused and reported to the Presidency that I was behind the protests, that I was a sponsor of the protests.”
Tinubu said he denied the allegations and “appealed to the youths” and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to respond to the demands of the protesters.
“That was why he (Sanwo-Olu) set up the Judicial Commission of Inquiry. The governor has gone to the home of one of the victims to appeal to them.
“He has put N200m together as part of restitution and compensation for those attacked” he said.
More mayhem seemed to have trailed the Lekki massacre as suspected hoodlums reportedly raided and destroyed equipment and cars in the TV Continental building in Ketu, Lagos.
Unconfirmed reports have suggested a connection between the television station and Tinubu.
