Six-times Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton also joined the campaign against police brutality in Nigeria after he was spotted wearing a T-shirt with the inscription EndSARS.
He wore the t-shirt for a pre-television interview at the Portuguese Grand Prix on Sunday.
Hamilton took to his Twitter handle to lay emphasis on the message, “We all have a responsibility to educate ourselves and raise awareness of the tragedies happening in the world around us and take action where we can. The recent events in Nigeria are a human rights crisis”.
Formula One’s governing body had last month laid out new pre-and post rules for driver attire after Hamilton wore a T-shirt on the Tuscan Grand Prix grid with the words “ Arrest thr cops who killed Breonna Taylor” on the front.
Taylor, a Black medical worker, was killed by police officers who burst into her apartment in Louiville, Kentucky, in March.
Thus, joining the protest against excesses of police in Nigeria, was not much of a big deal for Hamilton.
