Liberia, in collaboration with the World Bank, is set to launch the Governance Reform and Accountability Transformation (GREAT) Project, a $30 million initiative aimed at modernising governance, strengthening institutions, and improving public service delivery.
Slated for an official unveiling in Monrovia on Thursday, the GREAT Project seeks to expand digital public services, enhance tax revenue collection, and promote transparency and accountability within key government agencies.
Funded by the International Development Association (IDA) of the World Bank, the project will run until 30 November 2030, integrating technological advancements and institutional reforms to boost efficiency across Liberia’s public sector.
Beneficiary institutions include the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MoPT), Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA), National Identification Registry (NIR), and Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC), among others.
According to government officials, the initiative marks a bold step towards governance transformation, ensuring better service delivery and improved public sector efficiency for all Liberians.
