Authorities in Libya have declared the House of Representatives member representing Benghazi, Ibrahim Aldrasi, missing following a robbery incident at his home.
According to a statement on Friday by the Ministry of Interior, it is not believed the parliamentarian was killed. It also announced commencement of investigation to ascertain his whereabouts.
“The ministry of interior also strongly denies the news being circulated about his (Aldrasi’s) killing,” the statement said.
This is not the first time a parliamentarian is missing in the African country, Heritage Times HT gathered.
In July 2019, HoR member Siham Sergewa and her husband were abducted from their home in Benghazi.
