In the wake of catastrophic flood, Prime Minister of Libya’s has announced that a meticulous evaluation process will be conducted before accepting foreign aid.
While addressing a press conference, PM Abdulhamid al-Dbeibah, expressed that his nation is in the process of scrutinizing international offers of assistance, with the primary aim of determining what is truly essential.
He added that the government will also ensure a seamless coordination will be applied to rescue operations in the wake of the calamitous flooding that has claimed the lives of a minimum of 2,000 individuals.
‘’We have received numerous offers of support, and we will only accept aid that is deemed necessary,” he said.
Although, there has been some international aid arriving in eastern Libya, where Derna is located, the complex political environment has made rescue efforts difficult.
