Warring parties in Libya conflict are to hold negotiating talks on unifying to form a single government as part of continuing a peace process.
The two sides are the Government of National Accord based in Tripoli and the eastern parliament led by Gen Khalifa Haftar.
It would be recalled that they signed a ceasefire last month, and will today start negotiations on forming a single government with the aim of holding elections.
According to the head of the UN mission, Stephanie Williams, there had already been significant progress and these latest talks offered Libyans a unique opportunity.
The UN selected 75 people, from across Libya’s political, social and military factions, to take part in the talks.
The talk will hold in the neighbouring country, Tunisia.
