West African neighbours Mali late Tuesday night beat Nigeria 2-0 in an international friendly match decided at Marrakech, Morocco.
Toure gave the Eagles of Mali the lead in the 18th minute, before Doumbia sealed the victory in the 84th minute to give Mali the win in the game.
The loss was the first for interim coach, George Finidi at the helm of affairs following the expiration of Jose Peseiro’s contract.
It now remains to be seen if the Nigeria Football Federation will go ahead to hand the vacant substantive senior men’s team job to Finidi despite the loss.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria suffered the defeat few days after edging Ghana’s Black Stars 2-1.

The outcome of the friendly is also coming over one month Nigeria finished as second best side at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
The host emerged champions of the AFCON outing after they beat Nigeria 2-1 in the final.
The friendly matches in the current FIFA window were meant to prepare teams ahead of World Cup qualifier.
