Manchester City on Wednesday night outclassed Premier League leaders, Arsenal 4-1 in one of the midweek matches to reduce tally on top at the Etihad Stadium.
The encounter witnessed outstanding performance from Midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne, who scored twice.
In what was billed for weeks as the likely title-decider, City were superb from the first whistle, with De Bruyne and Erling Haaland, terrorising Arsenal’s defence.
At the end of the clash, Arsenal remained top, with just two points lead over City, who have two games in hand.
City, chasing a fifth Premier League title in six years, can now afford to lose one of their remaining seven games and still win the title, even if Arsenal win out.
Manchester City, still have a date to keep with United in the FA Cup final.
They will also face Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League semi-final.
With these matches ahead, the prospects continue to increase of a historic treble-winning season for the blue half of Manchester.
Chelsea continued their unstoppable strings of defeats, after they lost 0-2 to Brentford at Stamford Bridge.
The loss makes it the fifth for Frank Lampard, who has overseen five matches for the Blues, including, a quarter-final 0-4 aggregate crash against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League.
