English Premier League side, Manchester United have stated that the club’s IT experienced a “sophisticated” hacking operation but much had been done to ward off the strike
According to a statement released by the Red Devils communication’s department, the club said it witnessed an unprecedented attack on their IT systems and have ordered an investigation to the incident.
The club said: “Manchester United can confirm that the club has experienced a cyber attack on our systems.
United have taken a swift action to contain the attack and is currently working with expert advisers to carry out further investigation on the attack.
This, however, will not affect their Premier League showdown against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, November 21.
“These type of attacks are becoming more and more common and are something you have to rehearse for,” the club’s spokesperson told Press Association.
Ole Gunna Solksjaer’s men will set sight on obtaining the maximum point against the Westbrom, despite a few injury troubles.
The Baggies are currently floating in the relegation waters with zero wins in eight Premier League games.
