Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has expressed worries over Manchester United’s recent dearth of goals after they were held to a 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace on Wednesday.
Solskjaer’s men have now gone three games in a row without scoring, but the Norwegian believes his side are withholding nothing despite having to go through the busy and hectic schedule.
Solskjaer said: “Of course you are not happy if you don’t create enough chances to win a game.
“It has been a week with no goals. Sometimes three games sounds a lot without scoring, of course we have not conceded either, but a week in a season like this sometimes you just don’t hit the form you normally have had for many, many months.
“It is a bit of a worry, of course it is, but I know that the boys are giving everything.
“We play every three days, I know they are giving everything they have got. Attitude and approach, I am very happy with. The quality we need to get back to what we know we can do.”
David De Gea and Anthony Martial, who sustained a knee problem were absent in the capital and Edinson Cavani led the line for the visitors but had limited opportunities.
The Red Devils struggled to create chances at Selhurst Park and Marcus Rashford’s 16th minute effort which happened to be the best chance for the visitors was side-footed wide.
Patrick Van Aanholt could have handed Roy Hodgson’s men three points at the death only to be denied by Dean Henderson.
United will now travel to Etihad to face Premier League leaders Manchester City on Sunday and even a victory would only take them to within 11 points of Pep Guardiola’s side.
