Talks have reached advanced stages for Senegal captain Sadio Mane to join Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr.
This was revealed by Bayern Munich via its website.
According to the club, “Sadio Mane is in contract talks ahead of a possible transfer and so is not in today’s squad.”
If the agreement is reached, Mane, currently a Bayern Munich player, will team up with five-time Ballon d’Or winner and Portuguese international Cristiano Ronaldo who joined the Saudi Arabia club last season.
The Senegal forward, 31, travelled on Bayern’s pre-season tour of Asia but was left out of a friendly tie with Kawasaki Frontale in Tokyo.
He joined Bayern last summer, signing a three-year contract after a £35m move from Liverpool.
He scored 12 goals in 38 appearances as Bayern won an 11th straight Bundesliga title.
However, the Senegalese slipped out of reckoning after he reportedly punched club teammate Leroy Sane in April.
The incident prompted his club to fine him and he was dropped out of the squad. Before then, he had battled injury amidst poor run of form.
Aside the anticipated coming of Mane, Al-Nassr had signed a number of established professional players including Croatia midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, Brazil full-back Alex Telles and Ivory Coast midfielder Seko Fofana.
