Suspected Boko Haram terrorists on Saturday attacked three communities in Hawul Local Government Area of Borno State and burnt down a church.
The villages attacked include Debiro, Tashan Alade and Tirgitu.
Citing a source, SaharaReporters reported, “that the insurgents came in about 10 gun trucks and began to fire indiscriminately at anything within sight.”
The gunmen burnt down two Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria (EYN) churches, also known as Church of the Brethren, in Tashan Allade.
The attack comes after Boko Haram attack on Pemi, a village close to Chibok, on Christmas eve. 11 people were reportedly killed in the attack.
