In the wake of his shocking defeat to Dustin Poirier at the UFC 257, many have wondered what is the next step for Conor ‘The Notorious’ McGregor.
According to reports, the former Champ-champ has been tipped for a stunning move to the WWE with rumour also making the rounds that the Irish man could be on his way to ring.
However, this could eventually happen if the words of current WWE superstar Sheamus are anything to go by.
McGregor’s countryman told Digital Spy: “He’s teased [coming to WWE] a couple of times.
“He’s still staying active, he’s a lad who’s won belts, he’s done a lot, so I think he’s that type of person who’s always trying to try his hand at something different.
“I think WWE would suit him down to the ground. You know, we’ve had a lot of people come in and out, [Floyd] Mayweather came in, a lot of celebrities have come in, a lot of sports people.
“So I don’t think anyone would raise eyebrows if he came in to WWE. I don’t think it’s if, I think it’s a matter of when to be honest.”
Former WWE champion Sheamus continued: “If he wants to come in there with me, that’s grand. He might get the fight of his life there, he might get couple of slaps he’s not used to.
McGregor had come under fire after his loss to Dustin with fans of calling him out for putting up such a poor show on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Conor spoke humbly following his loss to Poirier on and is willing to square off against ‘The Diamond’ again.
“His leg kicks were good, my leg was dead and I wasn’t as comfortable as I needed to be,” McGregor said after a third loss in the UFC.
“I have to dust it off and come back and that’s what I’ll do
