BBNaija star Mercy Eke is adding another feather to her ever-growing cap as she is set to appear in a new TV series produced by Ogelle.
Mercy Eke, is billed to star in ‘Trips’, an Ogelle flagship series, alongside Mr Macaroni and Father DMW.
The story centres around Chidiebere (played by Mercy), a female driver with scores of cash woes, Sikiru (played by Mr Macaroni), a married cab driver who is a chronic womaniser, and Baba Go Slow (played by Father DMW), an extremely obnoxious fellow.
It also chronicle the activities of the drivers and their unscrupulous passengers.
Confirming her involvement in the new TV production, Eke wrote on Instagram: “I’m happy to announce that I will be staring in a new TV series called *TRIPS*. Trips is a series about the lives & experiences of three e-taxi drivers. Other actors include @mrmacaroni1 & @fatherdmw55 as well as a host of top actors.”
The new series will be Mercy Eke’s first major role in a film production. Prior to the announcement, the reality star has made cameo appearances in major productions including Toyin Abraham’s star-studded 2020 comedy ‘Fate of Alakada’.
Osita Oparaugo, lawyer, filmmaker and founder of Ogelle, said he was looking forward to working with these talented Nigerians on the film project.
Oparaugo said that e-taxi or car hailing has become part of everyday lives and has its own story that needs to be told, noting that this series will do just that.
“We have the right team, men and women committed to creating indigenous and diverse content that speaks to culture and we all agree that this is the story that must be told well,” he said.
