Chinese President Xi Jinping has pledged to deepen ties with Morocco, emphasizing mutual support on core interests and the advancement of their strategic partnership.
During a technical stop in Casablanca following his state visit to Brazil, Xi met with Moroccan Crown Prince Moulay Hassan and Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch at the airport, where a welcome ceremony was held. The Crown Prince represented King Mohammed VI in receiving the Chinese leader.
Xi extended warm greetings to the Moroccan King and highlighted the steady growth of China-Morocco relations, marked by productive cooperation and vibrant exchanges across various sectors. Recalling King Mohammed VI’s 2016 state visit to China, Xi noted the visit’s pivotal role in elevating bilateral ties.
He reaffirmed China’s commitment to collaborating with Morocco on the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and the 10th Ministerial Conference of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum. He also expressed readiness to pursue practical achievements within the Belt and Road framework.
Crown Prince Moulay Hassan conveyed King Mohammed VI’s warm regards to Xi, commending the sustained momentum in bilateral relations.
The meeting underscores a shared vision for closer cooperation and stronger strategic ties between the two nations.
