Reports indicate that Morocco has been designated as the headquarters of the recently established African Clubs Association.
The association was specifically formed in 2023.
According to the report, Morocco edged out bids from Algeria and other African nations to host the association’s headquarters.
There are suggestions that the kingdom’s facilities and organisational standards may have given it the upper hand.
Though not yet officially confirmed, sources revealed that a memorandum of understanding is expected to be signed on Monday during the draw ceremony for the 2025 African Cup of Nations, which Morocco will host.
Morocco is also a joint host, alongside Spain and Portugal, for the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
This achievement makes Morocco the second African nation to host the World Cup in history, after South Africa in 2010.
