Brazilian striker, Givanildo Vieira de Sousa, popularly known as Hulk has revealed his ex-wife’s niece is pregnant with his fourth child.
Hulk made the announcement via an Instagram post.
The 35-year-old football star can be seen holding up an ultrasound scan of the baby alongside his wife Camila Sousa, 32 – to whom he was an uncle during his 12-year marriage to ex-wife Iran Angelo, 33.
Reports of their relationship emerged in December 2019, just five months after Hulk’s marriage with his former wife ended in July of the same year.
The pair married in September last year when Hulk was still playing for Chinese side Shangai SIPG, following his split from the mother of his three other children – two sons and daughter.
Alongside an Instagram post showing him lifting his partner off the ground, he wrote: “Today with a heart full of gratitude to God, I come to share with you that for the fourth time I am being blessed with another child.
“My heart overflows with so much happiness and I can only say thank you God.
“We are already looking forward to receiving you child, and we love you unconditionally.
“Come full of health my baby.”
He also shared a video of himself and his wife, as he lifted her into the air and kissed her while she grabbed onto the baby scans.
It is believed Hulk told his family about his relationship with Camila in December 2019 – including his three school-age children Ian, Thiago, and Alice.
A spokesman for the striker said in a statement at the time: “Hulk called the parents and the brother of Camila and told them the truth.
“It was Hulk himself who made the information public because he had nothing to hide.
“His position is transparency and he wants to avoid lies and malicious comments.”
His ex-wife said she has been caused ‘great pain’ since he began seeing her niece.
However Hulk claimed she treated him ‘like a monster’, and insisted he never began seeing Camila until after he and his ex-wife separated.
“I never had a relationship with Camila when I was married.
“I am a man. I was not happy in my marriage. I had countless reasons.
“Camila came to China. I don’t think I’m an ugly person and I’m young. Camila is young and extremely beautiful. We ended up getting involved. We were single,” the footballer previously claimed.
After debuting for Brazil in 2009, Hulk was one of the first superstars to join the Chinese Super League back in 2016.
He joined from Russian side Zenit St Petersburg and was the second highest earner in the whole league with a £320,000-a-week contract.
He was called Hulk after fans noticed a resemblance to actor Lou Ferrigno, who played the Marvel character in the 1970s television series The Incredible Hulk.
He signed for Atletico Mineiro on a two-year contract in January 2021 after scoring 77 goals in 145 appearances for Shangai SIPG.
