Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has escaped a huge fine from the club hierarchy over disciplinary issues.
This is after Osimhen had gone off in the draw against Bologna, and argued with the club boss Rudi Garcia about why he should’ve kept him on and the fact that the Frenchman should’ve played two upfront when the side needed a goal.
Napoli was considering punishing the player after a meeting with him.
Osimhen has made it clear to the Napoli squad that he didn’t mean to disrespect Garcia who was present during the meeting.
He stated that against Bologna, he was desperate to win the game and wanted to make sure that he redeemed himself after missing a penalty.
Napoli believes that the chapter has now closed and there is no need to fine Osimhen for his reaction, adding that there is no problem between the 24-year-old and Garcia.
The Nigerian international nearly left Napoli for other clubs, especially when a top Saudi Arabia side came calling for his signature.
He bagged nearly 30 league goals which helped Napoli win the Serie A after 30 years.
