The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Engr. Simbi Wabote has been presented with the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Bayelsa State Council’s ‘Best Content Promoter of the Year 2022’ award.
Mr. Ifeanyi Nwokemodo, NCDMB Senior Officer, Cooperate Communications Division, received the award on behalf of the ES on Saturday at the Secretariat of the NUJ in Bayelsa State.
The conferment of the award was a part of events to commemorate NUJ Press Week 2022 with the theme “Investigative Journalism; Key for Peace and Development in Nigeria.”
It is worthy to note that the award adds to a growing list of recognitions that have mounted Engr. Wabote’s cabinet for his relentless efforts at initiating, regulating and catalysing new opportunities that engender value-adding activities in-country and on the African continent at large.
Last year, the ES bagged the African Local Content Icon Award for his doggedness in changing the local content narrative of Nigeria and the African continent beyond the oil and gas industry.
In May, Engr. Wabote received Vanguard Newspaper Regulator of The Year 2021 Award – instituted by the Nigerian-based newspaper independent of political control – for his “doggedness in delivering local content goals.”
Just recently, the Association of Professional Women Engineers (APWEN) presented an award to the local content boss for the Board’s numerous support to the Association and numerous women capacity-building initiatives over the years.
