Boxer Francis Ngannou has received a watch gift worth £110,000 from Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of his fight with Tyson Fury in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Ngannou who revealed this via his Instagram said, “Got to pick up my new watch ahead of fight week here in Riyadh. Thank you @jacobandco Riyadh & my brother @cristiano! FuryNgannou.”
Ngannou is meant to face British heavyweight Fury on October 28, 2023.
Ronaldo is a big fan of combat sports and said previously in a 2020 documentary made by DAZN that, although football is his passion, he would choose boxing or UFC over football when it comes to watching sport on TV.
Currently, Fury has 34 fights in professional boxing, in which he scored 33 victories, including 24 knockouts. One fight ended in a draw.
Ngannou had a total of 20 fights in mixed martial arts, of which he emerged victorious in 17, including 12 knockouts, and suffered three defeats.
The next game for CR7 as Ronaldo is fondly called and his Al-Nassr team-mates is against Al-Duhail of Qatar in the AFC Champions League group stage on Tuesday.
The Saudi Arabian club are top of the group with two wins from two games so far.
