Gunmen have again abducted over 50 passengers along the Tegina-Minna Road in Rafi Local Government of Niger State.
The incident comes Less than three weeks after no fewer than 57 passengers riding in a bus owned by the Niger State Transport Authority were kidnapped.
Sources in the area told newsmen that the bandits blocked the road at Kundu town, a few kilometers from Zungeru town, when the three commercial vehicles carrying passengers including drivers each rammed into their hands.
The passengers in the three vehicles were abducted and taken to an unknown destination while the vehicles were left by the roadside.
In a related development, some armed bandits have also kidnapped an unknown number of villagers at Gidigori village of Rafi Local Government Council burning some cars as well as carted away some valuables.
While confirming this incident, a senior government official, who craved anonymity, said nothing has been heard from the bandits to enable the authorities to know the identities of those kidnapped.
One person has also been killed and several others kidnapped when bandits stormed Manta village in Shiroro local government council of Niger state
They were also said to have ransacked some houses in the village and went away with foodstuff and other valuables.
It was alleged that the bandits have run short of food in the forest and thereby trying to ensure its availability.
