Nigeria’s aviation regulatory authority, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has suspended the operational licence of Azman Air due to failure of the airline company to renew its Air Operator Certificate (AOC).
A visit to the website of Azman Air few minutes before 11am on Thursday indicated a mass cancellation of flights in and out of the airline’s routes.
The airline is accused of failure to renew its Air Operator Certificate which expired since the first quarter of this year. The regulatory authority through its inspectors is said to have made frantic efforts to ensure that Azman facilitates the renewal process, a move that has yielded no result.
Our correspondent gathered that the regulatory agency suspended the operational license of the airline after the Directorate of Air Transport Regulation (DATR), a department in the NCAA, had written a reminder letter to the management of Azman Air and issued it 30-daysultimatum to comply with the industry standards, the airline company again failed.
NCAA had few months earlier suspended the AOC of Dana Air over frequent incidents.
