Armed bandits have reportedly attacked and killed the Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Adamu Aliyu, in the Gwagwalada Area Council of Abuja.
The Chairman was reportedly killed alongside three others near Daku village in Dobi Ward of the Council on Thursday.
Mohammed Usman, Secretary of MACBAN, who confirmed the killing, added that three persons were also abducted.
According to him, three others were also injured and have been taken to the hospital for medical attention.
He narrated that the late MACBAN Chairman with six others were retuning from Izom market in Niger State, when they were attacked by gunmen.
“They were retuning from Izom market in Niger state where they went to sell cows, until just one kilometer to Daku village when the bandits suddenly emerged from the bush and opened fire on the truck, killing the MACBAN chairman and four others,” he said.
He gave the names of those killed as Saleh, Aliyu, Muhammadu and Saidu, saying they have been buried according to Islamic rites.
Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council, Alhaji Adamu Mustapha, also confirmed the incident.
