Foremost Nigeria’s intelligence agency, the Department of State Services (DSS) will soon unveil automated weapons, including Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) produced by its personnel, the Director General, Yusuf Bichi has hinted.

Nigeria is battling security concerns, arising from the activities of Boko Haram insurgency, an IS-backed terror group that has killed several thousands of people and displaced millions since 2008 in the North East region.
Added to that is bandits in North West without a defined ideology, who have abducted many travellers, students and community members in Kaduna, Zamfara and parts of Niger State located in North Central Nigeria.
Intelligence gathering has remained a major source of concern in the efforts to root out these non-state actors controlling large swathe of territory.
Bichi in his address however challenged the participants to utilise the skills they have acquired to develop the country.
He called on citizens to remain patriotic and shun those whom he described as warmongers who want to set the country on fire.
The Executive Intelligence Management Course (EIMC) 16 commenced in February 2023 with 89 participants drawn from 35 agencies across Nigeria and four other African countries, namely, Niger, The Gambia, Rwanda and Chad.
