The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has exciting news for young scholars across the nation.
The eagerly awaited seventh annual national undergraduates essay competition is just around the corner, and the stakes are high, with a generous cash prize of N2.2 million to be shared among three exceptional winners.
The first prize holder will receive a generous sum of N1,000,000.00, followed by N700,000.00 for the second prize winner, and N500,000.00 for the third prize recipient.
What’s more, the top ten finalists will not go empty-handed, as each of them will be rewarded with a brand-new laptop.
The competition, a flagship event by the NCDMB, serves as a call to action for young minds to develop local capacities and competencies in preparation for meaningful engagement in Nigeria’s Oil and Gas industry.
As the world continues to navigate the lessons of the global Covid-19 pandemic, this year’s theme is set to revolve around “Nigerian Content and the lessons from the global Covid-19 pandemic.”
The event, spearheaded by esteemed consultant Mr. Eyinimi Omorozi, CEO of Mahogany 21st Century Concepts Limited, will kick off nationwide on Monday, the 24th of July, 2023.
This academic exercise is a fantastic opportunity for first and second-year students in both public and private higher institutions of learning in Nigeria to showcase their academic prowess and dedication to excellence.
Eligible participants are encouraged to visit the program website, www.ncdmbessay.ng, and register for the competition, which will run until the 20th of September 2023.
The culmination of this enriching journey will take place at the award/prize-giving ceremony in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
In the previous edition of the competition, Mr. Ayotomiwa Elesho, a second-year Political Science student from the University of Ibadan, claimed the prestigious N1 million prize, showcasing the caliber of talent that this event attracts.
