Nigeria has secured the third position among African nations in the World Giving Index 2024, a testament to the generosity of its people.
Kenya, claimed the top spot in Africa and the second position globally while Gambia and Liberia followed closely behind, ranking second and fourth respectively.
The Charity Aid Foundation (CAF) released the World Giving Index, highlighting Kenya’s impressive achievement despite facing economic challenges.
The report praised the nation’s young population for their volunteerism and willingness to assist strangers, reflecting the “utu” spirit of humanity.
The index revealed that 4.2 billion individuals worldwide contributed to charitable causes, donated their time, or helped strangers in 2022.
This figure represents a significant 72% of the adult global population.
