Protest leaders have announced plans to renew nationwide demonstrations on October 1.
Widespread protests erupted between August 1 and 10 in response to the soaring cost of living.
Omoyele Sowore, presidential hopeful for the Action Alliance Congress (AAC) and a key protest figure, made the announcement during a News Central TV interview.
Sowore revealed that organizers have been meeting to strategize the next phase of protests.
“This protest will resume at the beginning of October and might even start earlier depending on situational variables.”
Protest leaders are demanding an end to fuel subsidies, a N250,000 minimum wage, the release of Nnamdi Kanu, and a new constitution.
Despite President Bola Tinubu’s call to end the protests, organizers remain steadfast, dismissing his speech as unconvincing.
